Central Government sanctioned NIELIT Project to Tirupati

The ruling YSR Congress Party government under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has heard another good news from the Centre. Center which has sanctioned funds for revenue deficit budget, Polavaram project – recently sanctioned another huge project to AP. To this extent, the central government has given its stamp of approval on the proposals related to this.

The Central Government has sanctioned the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Center to Tirupati in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It will be set up in Tirupati. The Center has approved the recommendations made by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The administration has also issued permits. An amount of 6.42 crore rupees has been released in the first phase.

Nagaland has appointed NIELIT in Kohima as the implementing agency. The Kohima center will also oversee the construction responsibilities and other activities of the center to be set up in Tirupati. It will be set up in the premises of Srivenkateswara University. The center will provide quality education to the youth in information technology and its allied fields.

It has the facility to train about 1,000 students annually. At present there are 47 NIELIT centers across the country. This is the first time that this project has been sanctioned to AP. This center is useful for imparting information technology, electronics and communications in key areas.

Dr. M Gurumurthy, a local Lok Sabha member of YSRCP, has been trying to establish this center in Tirupati for some time. They finally paid off. Gurumurthy commented that this will help the students of the state to pursue high level education at post graduate level in electronics design, technology, embedded systems.

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology(NIELIT):

NIELIT stands for National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology. It is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of the Government of India. NIELIT was established in 1988 with the objective of developing industry-oriented quality education and training in the field of Information, Electronics and Communications Technology (IECT).
