Popular actor Sarath Kumar passed away today at Hyderabad AIG Hospital after battling illness for the past few days and undergoing treatment. Age 71. Hometown Srikakulam District Amudalavalasa. Real name is Satyambabu Dixit. Parents Vijayashankara Dixitulu and Sushila Devi.

Sarath Babu is an Indian film actor who has primarily worked in the South Indian film industry, particularly in Tamil and Telugu cinema. He was born on July 31, 1951, in Amudalavalasa, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Sarath Babu, who started with dramas and showed great interest in acting, made his Tollywood entry in 1973 with Ramarajyam. In a very short time, he became famous as a character artist. The director Singeetham Srinivas have given a big break to Sarath Babu.

Sarath Babu made his acting debut in 1974 with the Telugu film “Tharam Marindi.” He gained recognition and popularity for his versatile performances in both positive and negative roles. He has acted in over 200 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages.

He played many memorable roles in more than two hundred and fifty films. He earned an indelible following with his unforgettable characters as a cold-blooded killer in Search, a loner who lost his wife in Abhinandana, Kamal Haasan’s friend in Sagara Sangam and an elder brother in Sitara. Guppedu’s mind brought a lot of fame.

Swathimutyam and Samsaram have become very close to the family audience through a chess game. Married life with Ramaprabha – Divorce created sensation at that time. Later married Sneha Nambiar. Three times recipient of Nandi award for the story of Seethakoka Chiluka-Nirajanam-O Bharya Katha and his roles in Abhinandana Movie and Ayyappa Swami Mahatyam.
