O Pannerselvam sworn-in as Tamil Nadu CM
Finance Minister O Pannerselvam who is known to be the loyalist of Jayalalithaa was unanimously elected as the of AIADMK Legislative Party after the tragic news last night.
Actually, The Legislature Party Meeting scheduled to take place at 6 pm on Monday was postponed Twice. Party MLAs took part in the meeting at 12 AM, soon after receiving confirmation from Apollo Hospitals on Jaya’s death.
Obviously, O Pannerselvam became the only choice to be Jayalalithaa’s successor as he was the one chosen by her to be CM when she was in jail on two occasions and also after her hospitalization in September this year. Pannerselvam and 136 AIADMK MLAs attended the meeting. Soon after his election, Pannerselvam went to Raj Bhawan to inform Governor Vidyasagar Rao about his election as leader of the AIADMK Legislature Party.
Swearing-in Ceremony of O Pannerselvam took place on Tuesday morning. However, No decision has been party by AIADMK over the post of General Secretary, which was held by Jayalalithaa.
